Angel Has Fallen is an upcoming American action film directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Katrin Benedikt, Robert Mark Kamen. The filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh (The Messenger) is in charge of directing Angel Has Fallen, the third installment of the successful saga started with Objective: The White House, which will be released in Spain on August 30 under the title Objective: Washington DC, a logical translation to maintain consistency with both the first and second installments, Objective: London.
In Objective: Washington D.C., the president of the United States, Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) is in a coma after an assassination attempt. His always confidante, secret agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), is unjustly accused of perpetrating it. Retained by his own, Banning manages to escape from police custody and becomes a fugitive. Apart from the law and his own agency, Banning will have to find the real culprits, allying himself this time with the most unexpected person Now his goal is to clear his name, protect his family and save, without the support of the FBI, to the country of imminent danger.
Gerard Butler (300, Gods of Egypt), in addition to retaking his character, is once again involved in the production of this installment. Morgan Freeman (Seven, Invictus) repeats in the shoes of the US president and actress Piper Perabo (Coyote bar) replaces Radha Mitchell in the role of Leah Banning, Banning's wife. They complete the cast, among others, Nick Nolte (Warrior, Head Full of Honey), as the protagonist's absent father, and Jada Pinkett Smith (Girls plan, Bad mothers), as agent Thompson.
Principal photography commenced on February 14, 2019 in New York, United States and concluded on April 18, 2019. The film is set for release on August 23, 2019.
